The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is known as “Giving Tuesday.” After taking time to be thankful on Thursday, many people chose to recognize the following Tuesday as the day to show their gratitude to God by donating to charities and organizations that are important to them. I wanted to take some time to encourage you to please consider the Disability Ministries Committee. I am honored to involved with this committee and I wanted to take some time to share with you information about the work we do as committee in the church.

We are committed to making the United Methodist Church a place where people with disabilities are fully included in all aspects of worship, leadership, ministry, and mission.
Your donations help us provide grants to local churches! Past grant recipients have installed hearing loops, built ramps, created accessible restrooms, and added elevators.
Join us in making a difference!
Sadly, statistics show that people with disabilities are less likely to attend worship services. Furthermore, one study found that more than half of parents with children with special needs reported that their child had been excluded from a worship service.
As our congregations continue to age, more people will develop disabilities over the coming years. Our mission is to advocate for the needs of people with disabilities, empower people with disabilities, and educate members of our churches and communities about issues related to disabilities and disability awareness.
