enjoy books that bring to life forgotten characters of the past, especially if they are women. This book introduced me to a new aspect of one of my favorite periods of history. I would now like to read the nonfiction text by Akkerman that inspired it.

The book is rich with historical details about England in the early Tudor period. I have a soft spot for novels set during this time in history, and Hickson's writing reminds me of another Philippa Gregory, who is one of my favorite authors.

I couldn't put this book down. The protagonist gives voice to Asperger Syndrome and the entire story is so well written and full of heart that you won't want it to end!

Act of Valor by Dana Metntink was a very cute category romance. It is clear that she knows both her form and her audience. I enjoyed spending time with these characters and I would be interested to read more books in this series, especially since they all include brave canine companions.
