A Christmas Hamster by Stephanie Dagg is an adorable romantic comedy for the holidays. It is super sweet as well as super cute, and just the right length to squeeze in during a busy holiday season.
The book is rich with historical details about England in the early Tudor period. I have a soft spot for novels set during this time in history, and Hickson's writing reminds me of another Philippa Gregory, who is one of my favorite authors.

I couldn't put this book down. The protagonist gives voice to Asperger Syndrome and the entire story is so well written and full of heart that you won't want it to end!
Act of Valor by Dana Metntink was a very cute category romance. It is clear that she knows both her form and her audience. I enjoyed spending time with these characters and I would be interested to read more books in this series, especially since they all include brave canine companions.
The Bright Side of Darkness by Jo Elizabeth Pinto is one of the best books that I have read so far this year. It is deeply moving and inspiring. It also includes one of the best depiction of a character with a disability that I have ever seen in literature.
